TAMBOPATA 4D/3N

Itinerary:

Lima – Puerto Maldonado – Tambopata – Puerto Maldonado – Lima


Day 1 – Lima – Puerto Maldonado – Tambopata, 400 masl (L, D)

  • Reception at the Puerto Maldonado airport and taken to the office, where you will be able to repack and leave in storage anything that you will not be needing
  • Transfer to the port where we will take the boat for an hour along the Madre de Dios river to our lodge.
  • Upon arrival welcome meeting with a refreshing fruit juice from the región. The lodge manager will give useful recommendations and information.
  • After a short rest you start the trek through the tropical forest approximately 2 hours accompanied by the local guide who appreciates trees with more than half a century, toucans, orioles, macaws, monkeys, snakes, butterflies, etc.
  • Return to the lodge to enjoy a typical lunch
  • Visit the island of the monkeys located in front of the lodge crossing the Madre de Dios River
  • Night boat ride to appreciate the white alligators of the area and you can also see the Capibara being the largest rodent in the world
  • Return to the lodge and dinner included

Overnight in Tambopata

Day 2 – Lake Sandoval – Tambopata, 400 masl (B, L, D)

  • Start the 3 km walk. through the dense tropical towards Lake Sandoval (piranha habitat) one of the largest in the Tambopata National Reserve
  • Boat ride rowing appreciating a variety of birds and monkeys of different species (sansho, cormorant, jacanas, pumagarza, buzzards, cotomono, monofila, black machin and sloths)
  • Possible encounter with giant otter families that are in danger of extinction and alligators which have more than 4 meters long
  • Return to the lodge to enjoy a typical lunch
  • At night we will have the walk to appreciate the diversity of species of insects, amphibians, reptiles and other nocturnal animals
  • Return to the lodge, dinner included

Overnight in Tambopata


Day 3 – Sandoval Lake, 400 masl (B, L, D)

  • At 05.30 am, walk through the Canopy road over 30 meters high to appreciate nature from the highest possible, panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River
  • From the platforms you will see different species of birds such as toucans, macaws, tanagers, orioles which will be a wonderful experience
  • After breakfast we prepare for a challenge activity on trees over 30 meters high, for this activity we will have an instructor guide who will give us a talk on how to use the safety harness for the Zip-line, feeling the adrenaline Sliding through the trees, return to the lodge.
  • Lunch and rest.
  • In the afternoon the challenge is crossing the Madre de Dios River by kayak, on the way we can appreciate the fascinating sunset.

Overnight in Tambopata

Day 4 – Tambopata – Puerto Maldonado – Lima, 154 masl (B)

  • Breakfast and return to the city of Puerto Maldonado, transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima
